A kind of closure to the year, having postponed collecting my report card for as long as endurable. (by the teacher, not me)
[BEFORE THAT LOOK AT
THESE. MMMM FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD]
Done well? [THEY FREAKING LEFT OUT 11 CCA POINTS, which would have brought me. near. to. ronald chan] Reasonable I guess, if not for the chinese. But enough about that already.
Band's going pretty well, a lot of last year's garbage cleaned up already, standards are rising. Yes, I can sense momentum picking up as we inch towards whatever elusive goal. I think that's the point, really. We need a concrete goal, a model to um. model ourselves upon, not drift aimlessly.
Above all, we need PRACTICE, the real, serious, focused practice one hour of which is worth five of what we do now. Then, committment, then if we're good, enthusiasm.
There's still this year's garbage, like some members of my batch who really. disappoint. everybody. They're a bloody joke, the way their names are listed but their shoes never at the band room door. I can bet a certain few haven't touched their mouthpieces since... SYF probably. Raphael has been tossed down the trash heap but it doesn't make any difference, really. The same people don't come, the same instruments remain untouched, the same people slack their asses off.
If only, if only, if only, so many things to do, so little time.
Beyond band, if there's anything i hate about holidays, its the sheer purposelessness. Granted there's a lot of stuff to occupy them with, but honestly, how many of it is stuff I genuinely enjoy, that I find
purpose in. Band, for one, going out with friends [yytimtimem], nco camp and that's about it. Honestly, if there weren't consequences of not attending these millions of... 'meetings', i'd be the last to show up.
I'd like to find a purpose, these holidays, something that lets me meet people, do good, if you can throw a girl in there somewhere yea that'd be nice.
